NSF CAREER Award Workshop: Wednesday, April 20, 2022 1:00-3:00 p.m., Morris Library 7th Floor, Room 752/754

This workshop will provide an opportunity for junior faculty to become acquainted with the NSF Faculty Early Career Development Program (CAREER). The CAREER Program offers the National Science Foundation's most prestigious awards in support of junior faculty who exemplify the role of teacher-scholars through outstanding research, excellent education, and the integration of education and research within the context of the mission of their organizations. Current CAREER awardees Pravas Deria (School of Chemical & Biomolecular Sciences), Arash Komaee (School of Electrical, Computer, & Biomedical Engineering), and Dipanjan Mazumdar(School of Physics & Applied Physics) will provide insight on how to craft a successful proposal based on their experiences.


  • Hold a Doctoral Degree in an NSF-supported field
  • Be untenured and be employed (50%+) in a tenure track position asan assistant professor or equivalent
  • Have not submitted more than twice previously and have notpreviously received an NSF PECASE or CAREER award; can be anNSF recipient in other programs
  • Work in a discipline normally funded by NSF
