Action

Identify a Grant Program & Confirm Eligibility

Identify at least 8 months prior to proposed start date; Confirm PI eligibility for grant program and University guidelines.

Notify OSPA

Submit the required Proposal Notification ASAP but no later than three weeks before the due date.  An OSPA team member will be assigned to work with you within one business day of receiving the notification.

Prepare a draft Budget & Budget Justification

Send to OSPA for review, as soon as possible but no later than 10 full business days prior to the date and time the proposal is due to the funding agency.

Prepare Proposal Documents

Write proposal narrative.  Obtain required documents for subawards, matching funds, vendor quotes, etc.

Obtain Signatures on Proposal Checklist

Signatures required: PI(s) co-PI(s), Sr. Personnel, Fiscal Officer, Department Chair(s) (or equiv.), Dean(s) (or equiv.).

Forward Checklist & Proposal to OSPA

Ten full business days before deadline: Provide OSPA  the complete final version of your proposal. Complete, final proposals should include a final budget, budget narrative and proposal checklist with all necessary signatures and supplemental materials.  All attachments should be included. If the application is submitted via the sponsors electronic system, all documents must be uploaded to this system.
