Training for Kuali Research (KR) is now open!

We encourage all faculty, staff, and approvers involved in sponsored projects to register.

Below is the training schedule, with multiple sessions available for each topic. You only need to attend one session per topic. All sessions will be held on Microsoft Teams.

SOM–Springfield employees:  Your campus will have a separate implementation and training schedule. Please do not register for SIU Carbondale specific trainings. 

General Overview of Kuali Research (General)

Description – This training will demonstrate to the campus community how to access Kuali Research, and explain tips for working in KR such as navigation & search. OSPA staff will also share website resources that have been developed to assist the campus community navigate Kuali Research.

Proposal Development Training (PD)

Description – This training will demonstrate to the campus community how to create a proposal in Kuali Research. You will be informed of mandatory proposal certification questionnaires, how to enter proposal details, how to enter indirect cost allocations, how to enter effort, how to enter research compliances, and how to upload proposal documents in Kuali Research.

Approver Training (Approver)

Description – This training will demonstrate how the approvals process will take place for Deans / Directors / Other approvers in Kuali Research. Approvals are granted within the KR system and automatically flow among the required approvers. Once all institutional approvals have been obtained, the proposal will be returned to OSPA for final submission.
